Aid Horton

Aid Horton died on December 5, 2018 at Good Samaritan Medical Center in Brockton, MA after a lengthy illness. He was born July 31, 1947 in Malden, MA, son of the late Aubrey E. “Bert” and Katherine (Little) Horton.

Born and raised in Malden, MA, Aid was a graduate of Malden High School and later of Lowell Technical Institute. Aid’s working years spanned two distinct careers, working first as an independent computer consultant before his desire for change and a love of being outdoors inspired him to move into a new career as a commercial satellite systems installer. Aid was the loving husband of 40 years to the late Jane R. (Houle) Horton and a resident of Pepperell, MA since 1977.

In the face of his long illness, Aid’s indomitable spirit, love of his family, and love of life helped him persevere. During his life he enjoyed traveling, good food, movies, country music, computers and was an avid NASCAR fan.

He is survived by his son Thomas and his wife Christine and his grandchildren, Daniel and Abigail of Pepperell, MA as well as his son Robert and his partner, Kari Harbert of Groton, MA. He was also brother to the late George Horton and the late Charlotte Lackey.

In lieu of a traditional funeral, Aid requested that a party be held in his honor at a later date to remember him and celebrate his life.
