Candace Justine Mangum

To know my mom, Candance Justine Mangum, was to love her. She was beautiful inside and out. She was happiest in a garden, riding her bike, or on the side of the road, cutting wild flowers for the house. She was married to my father and happy. Up until the mid 90s, my mom was a super-mom! She was a Girl Scout Leader, active in our local Episcopal church, an avid skier, and the "fun aunt" (so all the cousins say). Mom had a magnitude of health problems beginning around 2000, that took its toll on her life - but it didn't stop her! She fell in love again with a wonderful man who made her happy, Dana. They spent time traveling, dancing, gambling, and just enjoying one another. My mom also loved her 9 grandchildren. The biggest smile I saw from her was when she was spending time with them! Mom's heart and soul belonged in Colorado, and while she enjoyed being near her girls, Massachusetts was not home...just a place to help her get back on her feet. Although she missed her mama and sisters as well, she had built her life in Colorado. So this summer, we will take her home and celebrate the life, that in turn, gave so much life to her family.

Candance Justine Mangum, born in Alexandria, Lousiana took her last breath on November 21, 2017 in Groton, Massachusetts. She is preceded in death by her father, Thomas Leeland Mangum, and her mother, Margie Mae Mangum. She is survived by her children, Annette Dawn Hudson, Sean David Mangum, and Kristen Justine Moffitt. She is survived by 9 grandchildren: Cordell, Sydney, and Piper Hudson, Sheldon, Shariah, and Shalize Trjuillo-Mangum, and Jaden, Jacob, and Jude Moffitt. She is survived by 4 sisters: Sandra Batla, Laura Dunaway, Karin Zieleck, and Tommie Calfee. She is also survived by 3 nieces: Taylor Calfee, Alycia Stewart, and Ericka Bigelow, in addition to 2 nephews: Jeremiah Batla, and Ken Zieleck.
