David Thomas Gilbert

David Thomas Gilbert RN, FA went home to be with his Lord and Savior after a courageous fight with cancer on June 9, 2018. He was born on October 3, 1951 in Somerville, MA to the late Ralph Gilbert and Genevieve Bernadette (Harrigan) Gilbert. He was raised in Littleton, MA and later served in the United States Army during the Vietnam War. He worked as a Registered Nurse at Nashoba Valley Medical Center for 41 years, most recently in the Operating Room. He was a long time resident of Pepperell, MA and attended Grace Baptist Church. He is survived by his beloved wife of 40 years, Gaylin Putnam Gilbert; two sons, Joel, and David and his wife Rachael; three dear grandchildren, Genevieve, Ezra, and Josephine; a sister, Judy Landry and her husband David; brothers Ralph, and his wife Dorothy, Paul and his wife Karin, and Vincent and his wife Kathy. David is predeceased by his brother, James Gilbert, and is survived by James’ wife, Celeste.

David’s body will be laid to rest at the Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Winchendon, MA. Calling hours for David will be held on Wed. June 13, from 5-8 PM at McGaffigan Family Funeral Home, 37 Main St. Pepperell, MA. Family and friends are respectfully invited to attend.  A memorial service will be held on Thurs. June 14, at 1 PM at Grace Baptist Church, 42 River Rd. Pepperell, MA. For those who wish, contributions in David’s name may be made to Grace Baptist Church, 42 River Rd. Pepperell, MA.
