Edward Vincent Hebb

Edward Vincent Hebb, 83, of Ayer and former longtime Littleton resident, passed away on Monday, September 18, 2018 surrounded by his beloved family. He was the loving husband of 63 years to Olive (McSorley) Hebb.

Born in Cambridge, MA on February 27, 1935 he was the son of the late Vincent and Marjorie Hebb.

Growing up in Cambridge, Ed graduated from Cambridge Rindge & Latin School and went on to have a successful career. In the early years he worked for Zayres Department Stores as a Manager traveling and helping to open new stores in Ohio, Western MA and Cape Cod. He then went on to work for GEM Department Stores, GenRad, and Acton Property Management. He was also the proud owner and operator of the Chalet Sub Shop in Acton, MA for seven years. In Ed’s later years he worked as a dispatcher and driver for Littleton Limo. He continued working up until he was 80 years old for C&L Limo as a dispatcher.

In 1962 Ed settled in Littleton with his wife Olive, where he would raise his five children. He loved to watch his children play sports, travel to the beaches in Ogunquit, ME and Cape Cod and always enjoyed a good cigar. Ed was an avid New England sports fan and could always be found watching a game. He enjoyed cruising in his many convertibles he had over the years, especially down to Florida during the winter months.

His greatest joys came from spending time with his children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Watching them grow made his heart beat and he continually expressed his love for all of them up until his last days.

Along with his wife Olive, Ed leaves behind his five children, Brian Hebb and his wife Marie of Littleton, MA, Mark Hebb and his wife Suzanne of Bourne, MA, Scott Hebb and his wife Jill of Bourne, MA, Chris Hebb and his wife Jacquie of Bourne, MA, and Kelly Dutcher and her husband Todd of Littleton, MA. He is also survived by his sister Patricia Ploss and her husband Richard and his sister-in-law and brother-in-law Dorothy and Luke McSorley. Also left behind are 12 grandchildren, 4 great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews and many others that loved him.

In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his brother Charles Hebb.
