Keith M. Leighton, 76, died peacefully on Thursday, September 28, 2017, after succumbing to a series of long term illness.  Keith was born on April 26, 1944 in Ayer, MA , a son of Arnold and Dorothy Leighton.  Keith, although most currently a resident of Nashua, NH was a long time resident of Littleton, MA.

Keith attended Littleton High School and chose to remain there to start a family of his own.  He was well known in Littleton for his skills as a master craftsman and for his woodworking abilities.  He worked as a carpenter for Harvard Acres and spent many years working for Pella Windows and Doors in Littleton, MA.  Keith was also an active member of Littleton’s volunteer fire department.

Keith enjoyed spending time with his family; camping in the White Mountains and spending summers in York, ME.  His trailer at Camp Eaton in York, ME was one of his most beloved spots.  He spent many summers there with family and friends.  Throughout his life Keith was a lover of animals; his home was never complete without a dog or two that quickly became a cherished part of the family.  On weekends he could often be found selling various items at local flea markets; a place he was often visited by family and friends.  He was an avid collector of many things, most notably model cars; a passion he passed onto his grandsons every Christmas with a gift of the most recent collectible Hess truck.

Keith is survived by his former wife of 27 years, Judith Leighton of Biddeford, ME, his wife of 28 years, Theresa Leighton of Lebanon NH and his brother, Arnold Leighton of NH.His 4 children and their spouses, Lori and Fran Purcell of Pepperell, MA; Jennifer and Frank Massarelli of Pepperell, MA; Amy and John Reppucci of York, ME; and Keith and Rachel Leighton of Ayer, MA.He also leaves behind his two nieces, Jodi Corbett of Littleton, MA and Krystal Wheeler of Ashby, MA for whom he cared for dearly, and his seven grandchildren, Amanda, Patrick, Alex, Brynn, Jocelyn, Mitchell, and Troy.   Visiting Hrs. at the McGAFFIGAN Funeral Home 37 Main St. (Rte.113) Pepperell Monday 5-7 PM relatives and friends kindly invited.  please see www.mcgaffiganfuneral.com
