Thomas E. Boersma, born June 12, 1949, in Grand Rapids, MI, the son of Everett Boersma and June (Borgman) DeJager.  He died unexpectedly on March 4, 2017 at the age of 67.

Tom was raised in Grand Rapids, MI, graduating from East Christian High School and from Michigan State University.  He was a licensed social worker, providing care for children, adolescents, and adults suffering with behavioral health disorders throughout his professional career.  He worked at several human service agencies in Michigan and after relocating to New England he worked for Roland and Associates, the state of New Hampshire, the Commonwealth of Massachusetts, The Windham Inn and Vinfen, Inc.  He traveled to both Ukraine and China to teach others about behavioral health disorders.

Tom was an avid, passionate fly fisherman throughout his life, traveling nationally and internationally to engage in his favorite pastime.  He loved all things outdoors.  He was passionate about animal rights issues and co-founded a hospice for elderly and ill dogs, devoting much of his time in the recent past to caring for them.

Tom leaves behind his wife, Rachel R. Boersma, of Pepperell, MA, his step-son Graham M. Goodridge of Nashua, NH, his step-daughter, Amelia J. Goodridge of Pepperell, MA, two grandchildren, Brady Goodridge of Athol, MA and Alaura Oliveira of Pepperell, MA and his beloved sister, Sally Boersma of Kentwood, MI, his step-mother, Elaine Boersma of Six Lakes, MI, and his step-father Donald DeJager, of Grand Rapids, MI.
