Alida Storniolo Pappas

Alida Storniolo Pappas born on March 30th, 1947 in Boston MA passed away on Friday May 29th, 2026 surrounded by her loving family. She was 79 years old and spent the last 3 years living happily in Townsend MA near her family.

Alida graduated from East Boston High School in 1964. Her first job out of high school was working for a local newspaper office. She then moved on to spend over 30 years working for the Mass DOT Highway Division first as a permits clerk and later as an administrative assistant. She enjoyed a long retirement after, leaving the work force at age 55. She was an avid reader and you could always find her holding a book or magazine along with her favorite cup of coffee. When she wasn't reading she liked to watch her soap operas, Hallmark Christmas movies, paranormal and crime shows. She was also a big fan of the Patriots and Red Sox, watching every game possible. She loved collecting anything with a butterfly on it and Elvis Presley memorabilia. She enjoyed going to bingo and playing the slot machines. She was always up for shopping and loved browsing thrift stores followed by trying out a new restaurant.

Alida was the daughter of Ida DiMarzo Storniolo and Albert Storniolo of East Boston who have predeceased her along with her husband Andrew Pappas and her dear sister Catherine O'Neill. She is survived by her daughters Alberta Winsor and her husband Daniel W. Winsor of Pepperell MA, Barbara Nutting of Athol, MA and her sister Deborah Bosco of Texas.

Alida was blessed to have not only grandchildren but great grandchildren, all boys. Grandsons Daniel A. Winsor and David Winsor of Pepperell MA, Ricky Nutting and wife Jena of Athol MA. Great grandsons Zuryiah, Chayton, Noah and Barrett of Athol MA. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews that she cherished and was especially close to Jamie, Brittni and Debbie.

We would like to thank family, friends and neighbors for their love and support during this time. She will be deeply missed and always remembered.

At Alida's request she will be cremated and there will be no services. In lieu of flowers please consider a donation to St. Jude's Children's Hospital or the charity of your choice in memory of Alida.
