Allan G. Bancroft

Allan G. Bancroft, of Pepperell, MA, passed away on September 7, 2026 after a brief illness.

He was the son of the late Floyd and Ruth (Gardner) Bancroft.

He attended Pepperell Schools and the Fitchburg Trade School. He served his country in the US Army, actively at Ft. Belvoir, VA and in the Army Reserves. For 30 years, he owned and operated Bancroft Septic Service, treasuring each customer as a friend, which led to his motto “We treat our customers like friends”. All his life, he had a great passion for old cars. He was always looking for his next project and finding the next car show. His latest treasure was his 1931 Ford Roadster, which he rebuilt. He was active at the First Baptist Church Westminster, MA.

He is survived by his wife of 65 years, Dollie; his two daughters, Susan DuBois and her husband, Rick, and their children, Michael (Jackie) and Laura Wyman (Rob); and Carol Rondeau and her husband, Rick, and their children, Meagan Reen (Tom), David (Sarah), and Karen. He is also survived by his great-grandchildren, Connor, Emily, Henry, and Jaxson Reen, Emma and Alan Rondeau, and Mason Adami; and his brother, Donald (Martha) Bancroft. He was predeceased by his sister, Joan Chamberlain.

Allan was an example of a loving family man. He was known for his quick wit, sense of humor, honesty, integrity, generosity, and always willing to lend a hand.

A Celebration of Life will be held at Grace Baptist Church, 42 River Road, Pepperell, MA on Sunday, September 13th. The family will receive relatives and friends from 2 – 4 pm, followed by a service at 4 pm. A private burial service will be held. 

Allan was a member of the Grace Baptist Church and served on the building committee during the construction of the present building.

In lieu of flowers, donations in Allan’s memory may be made to a charity of one’s choice.
