Andrew "Andy" Budd

Andrew “Andy” Budd entered into eternal rest on April 25, 2024, surrounded by the loving presence of his family.

A native of Chelsea, MA, Andrew played basketball for Chelsea High and was a product of his family’s strong roots in the area. Having resided in Townsend, MA with his wife, Reneé, for nearly thirty years, the couple were loved and respected in the community. The culmination of their love and dedication to each other and the community was realized as Sweet ‘n Salty, the restaurant they both built and worked on tirelessly.

Andy’s presence was immensely powerful for anyone who crossed paths with him. He could, and would, talk with anyone about anything – driven by genuine curiosity and desire to connect with others. Whether it was where to find the best super beef, sports, politics, abstract ideas or whatever he was tinkering on at the time, Andy could meet people where they were, without judgment, and get them to open up. To put it simply, it felt good to be around Andy, no matter the circumstances.

Andy was meticulous in his pursuits and more importantly, big in his heart. He will be missed dearly by a large circle of friends and family, including his beloved wife and partner, Reneé (Olsen) Budd; loyal & dear canine companion, Sophie; mother, Debra Walk; father and stepmother, Jeffrey and Sheryl Budd; mother-in-law, Rose Marie Olsen; brothers, Larry (KC), Jonathan (Anna) and Joshua (Julie) Budd; brother-in-law Ronald (Paula) Olsen; aunt, Arlene (Jerry) Tolin; uncle, Harvey Walk; aunt, Stephanie Budd; cousins Michael (Debbie) Tolin, Lisa Reinbold, Lauren McNasby, Emily Trudeau, Alexa, Sarah & Marc Budd; and many nieces and nephews: Casey Olsen, Logan (Barbara) Olsen, Isabella & Lilly Budd, Elliott & David Budd, Samara Budd, and great-nephews Dylan & Alex Olsen.

Visiting hours will be held in the McGaffigan Family Funeral Home, 37 Main St., (Rte. 113) Pepperell, MA on Thursday, May 2nd from 4 – 8 pm. Relatives and friends kindly invited. Andy’s Funeral Service will be held privately.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Lowell Humane Society, 951 Broadway St., Lowell, MA 01854 (www.lowellhumanesociety.org)
