Anna Marie Burgoon (Annie) died of complications of diabetes on August 31, 2022. Anna was born July 7, 1945 in Lancaster, Ohio, to Myrtle (Weller) and Paul Burgoon. She was the fifth of six children: Roger, Joe, Jim, Judy and Jilda who have preceded her in death. She grew up in the "Basil-side" of Baltimore, Ohio.
Anna graduated from Liberty Union-Thurston High School, Baltimore, Ohio with the Class of 1963. She graduated from Ohio University with a B.S. in English and received a Master's degree from the University of Vermont.
She began teaching in the Lancaster City Schools at General Sherman Jr. High School and then spent the remaining 32 years of her career as an English teacher at Westford Academy in Westford, Massachusetts.
Anna was a creative, gifted, popular, and beloved teacher, and a mentor to many of her students. She was the founder of the "WACO Faculty Group" and also served as the English Department Chair and union representative.
Many will remember her for her poetry, sense of humor, creativity, intelligence, sharp memory and for being a "light" in their lives. One of many of her community, charitable works was serving at the Open Pantry of Greater Lowell, for over 20 years. Her dedication and passion for the pantry was unsurpassed!
She is survived by sister-in-law Carolyn (Burgoon) Harris, nieces and nephews: Kelly and Ryan (Laura) Burgoon, Janice (Burgoon) Costanzo-Lockhart, James Burgoon, Joey (Sylvia) Burgoon, Teddi (Kevin) Burgoon-English, Michelle (John) Burgoon-Griffin, cousins, lifelong friend, Karen McCafferty-Heath and many other colleagues and friends.

A Celebration of Life will be held at the Community Church of Pepperell, 3 Townsend St., Pepperell, MA on Saturday, November 5th, 2022 at 11:00 AM. A Celebration of Life will be held at Trinity United Church of Christ, 105 N. High St., Baltimore, OH on Saturday, November 19th at 11:00 am. Burial of Anna’s cremains will be at Floral Hills Memory Gardens, Lancaster, OH and at the convenience of the family. Donations may be made in Anna's name to: The American Diabetes Association, P.O.
