Anne Louise (Durkin, Watson) Gould, 73, of Hollis, NH, passed away at the Community Hospice House of Merrimack, NH, on July 17, 2026. She was a cherished mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend, and her presence will be deeply missed.
Anne was a retired administrative assistant, completing her career at Home Health and Hospice Care in Merrimack, NH. She was an avid Boston sports fan, often cheering on the Celtics and the Patriots. Anne was a lover of fashion, turning this passion into a career as an interior designer and even owned her own design business in Tewksbury, MA in the mid-1990’s. She loved listening to music, especially with her late husband, Norman Gould. Above all, Anne greatly enjoyed the presence of her grandchildren and could not wait to tell her friends about all the kids’ latest stories and accomplishments. She was endlessly proud of her grandchildren.
Anne leaves behind two children, Kelly Desjardins and her husband Bryan Desjardins of Pepperell, MA, and Larry Watson and his husband John Schuttinger of Amherst, NH. She also leaves behind her beloved grandchildren, Charlie Desjardins, Alice Desjardins, Nevaeh Watson, and Ruby Watson. She was pre-deceased by her sister Pat McGee, with whom she shared a special bond. Her sister, Mary Mullin of Nashua, NH, will carry on the legacy and lore of the Durkin sisters. Anne had many nieces and nephews who cared deeply for her and of whom she was also endlessly proud.
Anne was pre-deceased by her husband, Norman Gould, who passed away 26 years ago at the Community Hospice House in Merrimack, NH. She still spoke with Norm most days, often looking for signs from him in the form of a white butterfly during the summer and fall seasons.
Services will be held at McGaffigan Funeral Home, 37 Main Street, Pepperell, MA, on Wednesday, July 22, 2026. There will be calling hours from 10-12, a memorial service at 12, and we will conclude with a burial at St. Mary’s Cemetery in Tewksbury, MA.
In lieu of flowers, please send donations in Anne’s memory to the Community Hospice House of Merrimack, NH, 210 Naticook Rd., Merrimack, NH 03054.
