Archer H. Davis Jr., age 73, died October 12, 2025 while visiting with friends in Waterville Valley, NH. Arch was predeceased by his father and mother, Archer H. Davis and Bertha (Climo) Davis. He was married to the love of his life, Terry English, who passed on September 22, 2024. They had enjoyed a 17 year marriage travelling abroad and enjoying their condo at Waterville Valley, especially during ski season. Archer was a longtime member of Nashua Country Club where they enjoyed the warm weather, golfing and swimming. Archer graduated from Groton High School in 1970 and continued his education at Purdue University where he earned his degree in aeronautical engineering in 1974. He went on to enjoy a 35 year career with the FAA as an air traffic controller at Chicago’s O’Hare airport and Boston’s Logan airport. He retired in 2010 as a regional manager with the FAA working at the Nashua Control Center. Those who knew Arch remember his kindness, his signature wit, and his devotion to his family. He was a beloved stepfather to his two stepdaughters, who benefitted daily from the humor and compassion he brought into their lives. Arch is survived by his brother Alan (Lisa) Davis of Dunstable, his nephews Andrew (Lindsay) Davis of Shirley and Ryan (Whitney) Davis of California and his stepdaughters Lindsay (Bobby) Carey and Corinne (Cale) Rogers, both of Colorado.
Following a private family church service, there will be a drop-in happy hour reception in Arch’s name at the Nashua Country Club, 25 Fairway Street, Nashua, NH. Please stop by the “Bunker” that Arch named, from 3PM – 6PM, on Saturday October 25th to swap stories, raise a glass and enjoy the comfort of his favorite soup in his honor.
In lieu of flowers donations can be made in Archer's name to the Dunstable Rural Land Trust, 1076 Main Street, Dunstable, MA 01827.
