Brother Bartholomew Sennott died peacefully on April 27, 2016 in Metro West Medical Center, Framingham, after a brief illness. He leaves his religious community of Saint Benedict Abbey in Still River, and several beloved nieces, grandnieces and cousins. He was predeceased by his brother, Thomas Mary. Born Robert Francis Sennott on January 25, 1924, Brother Bartholomew was raised and educated in Arlington before serving in the Army during WWII under General Patton. He took part in the campaigns in Normandy, Northern France, Rhineland and the Ardennes.
After his discharge from the Army, he joined Saint Benedict Center in Cambridge as a Slave of The Immaculate Heart of Mary. Years later, he professed his oblation as a Benedictine Oblate with his community of Saint Benedict Abbey.
Saint Benedict Abbey extends special thanks to the leadership, nurses and staff of Saint Patrick's Manor in Framingham who so lovingly cared for Brother Bartholomew in the final months of his life.
