Carole Ann Bolan, 88, of Groton, Massachusetts, passed away peacefully on June 8, 2026, surrounded by those who loved her.

Born on February 3, 1938, in Lowell, MA, Carole was the daughter of the late Joseph and Eleanor (Carr) Pollard. She married her late husband, Brendan Bolan, in Oct. 1960.

Carole lived a life defined by independence, dedication, and a deep love for family and animals. She remained in her home and continued caring for her beloved farm right up until her passing, a testament to her strength, determination, and unwavering spirit.

A lifelong animal lover, Carole’s passion for dogs was at the center of her life. She was the owner and operator of Bridal Vale Farm where she raised and bred beagles and provided boarding for dogs. She was rarely without a loyal German Shepherd and Chihuahua by her side. Her love for dogs extended far beyond ownership—it was a true way of life. If she wasn’t at home tending to her farm and animals, she could often be found participating in or judging tracking events or attending dog shows for obedience or agility, surrounded by the community and activities she loved. Her knowledge, dedication, and enthusiasm earned the respect and friendship of many fellow dog enthusiasts over the years.

Those who knew Carole will remember her as hardworking, fiercely independent, and deeply devoted to the people and animals she loved. Her home was a place of warmth, and her life was a reflection of the care and commitment she gave to everything she touched.

Carole leaves behind a legacy of love, perseverance, and passion that will continue through her family, friends, and the many animals whose lives she enriched. She will be deeply missed and forever remembered by all who had the privilege of knowing her.

Carole is survived by her two daughters and a son-in-law, Brenda Bolan of Maine and Linda and Kevin Butterworth of Claremont, NH; a brother, Tom Pollard of Townsend, MA, and Sister, Nancy Lee, of S.Paris, ME. Carole is also survived by her four grandchildren; Shauna Peffer, Kealah Bolan, Riley Baxter, and Allie Cole, and nine great-children.

A celebration of life will be held at a later date.
