Clifton Michael (Mike) Walker, 63, a veteran of the United States Army, passed away in his home on November 7, 2017 surrounded by family after a long illness. Michael is survived by wife Marsha (LaRosee) Walker of Pepperell, MA. Children Courtney Pineda and her husband Pablo of Austin, Texas; Marsha Lynn Whitman and husband Jeff of Mansfield, MA; Kristy Provinzano and husband Michael of Billerica, MA; Joshua Casella and wife Jennifer of Littleton, MA; Julie Roach and husband Patrick of Lowell, MA and 13 beloved grandchildren: Mia, Nina, Max, Zander, and Sydney Pineda; Ryan, Caitlin, and Lauren Whitman; Ella and Mason Provinzano; Paige and Jeremy Casella; Lillian Roach. Mike is predeceased by his mother Rosalie (Day) Walker, father Paul Joseph Walker, and brother Paul Dean Walker all of Dallas, Texas.
Mike was an accomplished musician and exuberant entertainer in the local country music circuit for many years as the front man of Mike Walker and Durango and The Mike Walker Band. He was an MCMAA award winner and the recipient of several humanitarian awards as a result of his work with charities such as Toys for Tots, American Heart Association, Juvenile Diabetes Foundation and the American Liver Foundation.
He enjoyed writing silly songs with his kids and grandkids and spending time with them in his workshop. He was a talented woodworker and an avid history buff.
A Celebration of Life service will take place Saturday, November 11th, 3:00 pm at Pepperell Christian Fellowship, 17 Main Street, Pepperell, MA 01463. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Mike’s memory, to Fisher House Boston, http://fisherhouseboston.org/
