Colon S. Swain (John), age 78, of Pepperell, MA, a former resident of Boston, MA and originally from Savannah, Georgia, passed away on June 14th after a long battle with cancer.
Colon had been a member of the Coast Guard, stationed in Boston on the weather cutter Casco from 1965 – 1969.
He enjoyed deer hunting, fishing, and clay shooting at the Townsend Rod & Gun Club. His greatest joy was spending time with his family and watching his granddaughters grow up.
Colon leaves his wife of 59 years, Elaine Swain, son Jeffrey Swain, daughter Toby O’Brien and son-in-law Michael O’Brien, granddaughter Jordan Routhier & husband Rob Routhier, and granddaughters Riley O’Brien and Kendall O’Brien.
Our thanks to the amazing doctors and nurses at Dana Farber Cancer Institute who cared for and supported him throughout his illness.
A private burial service will be held at the Massachusetts Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Winchendon.
