It is with heavy hearts and profound love that we gather our memories to honor Darlene Tarr, a devoted wife, a loving mother, and a cherished "Nana."
Throughout her life, Darlene’s heart and home were always open. She was a dedicated stay-at-home mother who took immense pride in caring for her family. From keeping a clean, welcoming home and tending to a well-maintained yard to ensuring everyone was well-fed and happy, her family’s comfort was always her highest priority. In addition to raising her children, she contributed to her household with tireless devotion—babysitting, cleaning homes, and using her talent for sewing to mend clothes and hem pants for others in her community. Later, after her children were grown, she shared those skills professionally at Impress Graphics doing embroidery.
Creative and gifted with her hands, Darlene loved crafting, cooking, baking, sewing, crocheting, and quilting—passions she lovingly fostered in her children. Her holiday spirit was renowned throughout the neighborhood, as each year she baked and delivered delicious coffee rolls, English muffin bread, cookies, and other treats to those around her.
Above all, Darlene cherished her family. She was a loving wife to her husband, Ted, and a wonderful mother to Eileen and T.J.. As a grandmother, her warmth and tenderness grew even greater; she took special joy in being "Nana" to her grandchildren, Wyatt, Keaton, and Nolan, including tenderly caring for Wyatt in his early years before he started school. Her big-hearted love extended to her many beloved animals over the years—her dogs, Heather and Shadow, and her cats, Buster, Bella, Buffy, Sydney, and Sydney Jr.—all of whom were spoiled rotten in her care.
She leaves behind a legacy of warmth, generosity, and loving care. She is survived by her devoted husband, Ted; her children, Eileen and T.J.; her beloved grandchildren, Wyatt, Keaton, and Nolan; and a wide circle of close friends whose lives were enriched by her kindness.
Services for Darlene are currently pending. Details will be announced once finalized.
The family requests that in lieu of flowers, and in honor of Darlene's love for animals, that donations be made to MSPCA-Angell, Attn: Donations, 350 S. Huntington Ave., Boston, MA 02130.
