Denise Nancy (O'Brien) Dawson

Dawson of Pepperell, Denise N. (O’Brien) Dawson, age 67 of Pepperell, died peacefully in her sleep on Sunday, March 4, 2018. Denise was born to Muriel O’Brien and the late William P. O’Brien in Long Island, New York on December 4, 1950. Denise was the youngest of two daughters and is preceded in death by her father William, brother in law Robert Mullane and sister Patricia O’Brien Mullane. After graduating from Wantagh High School, she attended Cambridge College in Boston, Massachusetts. Denise married her husband John in 1974 and shortly after moved to Pepperell. Denise was a long time dedicated employee at Deluxe in Groton, Massachusetts.

Denise’s passion in life were her two sons, Michael and Matthew. She worked on the Pepperell Little League Board for many years as well as volunteering for all of their youth sports leagues. Denise proudly served as a member of the booster club at North Middlesex Regional High School. Denise was also a tremendous fan of UMass Football as she spent many weekends traveling in support of her two son’s football careers. She and her husband John proudly encouraged their son’s numerous football coaching careers throughout her life. Denise’s other pride and joy was her only grandson, Frankie, for whom they frequently visited to show love and support in his life. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister and friend.

She is survived by her husband of 44 years, John P. Dawson, mother Muriel O’Brien (age 91); sons, Michael S. Dawson (Jodi) and Matthew W. Dawson; grandchild Francis M. Dawson and numerous nieces, nephews and friends.

(O’Brien) Dawson.  A Funeral Mass of Christian Burial will be held Friday March 9, at Our Lady of Grace Parish worshipping at St. Joseph’s Church, 28 Tarbell St., Pepperell. A visitation will be held at the McGaffigan Family Funeral Home 37 Main St. (Rte. 113) Pepperell, Thursday 5-8 PM. Committal Services will be held Friday at 1:30 PM at the Massachusetts National Cemetery Connery Ave. Bourne, MA 02532
