Elizabeth Woodin

Elizabeth (Fitzpatrick) Woodin, 83, passed away peacefully and surrounded by family on Saturday, June 7, 2015, in the Garden Room hospice suite at Gifford Medical Center in Randolph, VT, after a lengthy illness.

Born and raised in Pepperell, Massachusetts, on October 2, 1931, Liz was the daughter of the late Peter and Mary (McGuire) Fitzpatrick. She was married for about 25 years to Richard Woodin. She was a devoted mother and raised five children on Water Street in Framingham. Her Irish/Catholic faith was important to her, rarely missing Sunday service. She loved her heritage both Irish and Scottish, and occasionally made a trip to Ireland to visit relatives with her siblings.

After being divorced, Liz earned a college degree and later became a successful office manager for a variety of companies including Prime Computer and Phillips Medical Systems. She also took up running/jogging and earned a number of trophies given her age. She loved to bird watch, hike throughout New England, do yoga, knit, sew, cook "family recipes" and drink tea. Liz also devoted many hours to reading and trips to the library. She especially liked to take daily walks and spend time with her close and dearest friend Bob Godo.

Liz is survived and will be deeply missed by her three siblings Margaret Connolly of West Groton, MA, Bernard Fitzpatrick of Yuma, AZ, and Terry Fitzpatrick of Washington State; five children, Richard A. Woodin of Stafford Springs, CT, Mark T. Woodin of Millbury, MA, Michael J. Woodin of Colchester, CT, MaryBeth Woodin of Brooklyn, NY, and Joseph L. Woodin of Randolph, VT; 12 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren (with one on the way!). Liz was pre-deceased by her two brothers Michael and James Fitzpatrick. Liz was a humble friend to many that knew her, and was always quick to listen and lend a helping hand.
