James Robert DeFelice, 78, Died September 30, 2014 peacefully at home after a long battle with brain cancer, surrounded by his family. His Lexington High School yearbook, 1953, described him as "Slow moving Jim... good-natured... takes everything in his stride", he could be described this way all his life. Jim worked as an Elevator Installer/adjuster for 35 years for the former Otis Elevator and was a member of Local #4 Elevator constructors. In retirement he liked gardening, family time and eating.
Jim was born in Boston December 29, 1935 He grew up in Lexington, MA, he also lived in Tewksbury . He was the son of and preceded in death by Frank DeFelice of Italy and Karoline (Riess) DeFelice of Austria and brother John DeFelice and his last wife Judith Joudrey . He leaves behind his loving companion of 28 years Elaine Mills; his brother Frank and wife Ellie DeFelice of North Carolina; his daughters Susan Williams husband Rusty of Manchester NH., Tricia Barnes husband Woodrow of Monte Vista, CO., Karen Cain husband Greg of New Ipswich NH , Charlotte Lavoie husband Jim of Fitchburg, MA stepson Adam Holloway, Stepdaughters Jennifer Mandelenakis of Northbridge,MA and Rebecca Babine and husband Dan of Pepperell 4 grandchildren Marshall Cain, Melissa and Matthew Barnes, and Ashley Williams; 4 step grandchildren Kate and Grace Babine, Ava and Cooper Mandelenakis; and great grandson Camaron Cain.
