John Erwin Wyman, Sr.

John Erwin Wyman, Sr., passed away peacefully on August 19, 2026 at Lahey Hospital in Burlington, following complications from a fall. He was 74. Born in Cambridge, on September 2nd, 1951, he was the son of the late Donald and Irma (Peters) Wyman.

John is survived by his wife of 54 years, Donna (Carkin) Wyman of Pepperell; son John Wyman, Jr. and wife Shawna of Sterling; daughter Jennifer Zina and husband Derrick of Tyngsborough; son Robert Wyman and wife Laura of Pepperell; nine grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, John is predeceased by his daughter, Christina Wyman and son Dennis Wyman.

Raised on Ware Street in Cambridge, John graduated from Cambridge Rindge & Latin High School. He went on to graduate from Bentley College where he earned degrees in Accounting & Business Management. John worked as a police officer for the Town of Ayer and later as a car salesman for Allen Mello and Contemporary Automotive. He retired in 2010.

John met his future wife, Donna, while visiting his grandfather’s house in Groton. They were married on September 2, 1971.

John was a creature of habit. He enjoyed washing and detailing his pickup truck, his television shows, yard work, and following Boston sports.
