Joseph Albert Recco, 21, of Pepperell, MA passed away peacefully in his home with his family on July 7th, 2015 after a courageous three year battle with Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia (ALL). He was born on April 13, 1994 in Nashua, the son of Michael and Taryn (Grenham) Recco. He was a graduate of North Middlesex Regional High School class of 2012 and currently enrolled at the prestigious Syracuse University film program.
Joseph was a member of the Order of the Eagle of the Boy Scouts of America, awarded the National Freedom Medal, Order of the Arrow, AD Altare Dei and as a member of Troop 26 in Pepperell earned over 42 badges. He was an active participant at Our Lady of Grace (St. Joseph's) Catholic Church in Pepperell as an altar server, Eucharistic Minister and usher for several years. He contributed in many community service events including; Red Cross blood drives, PACH, Relay for Life, North Middlesex community garden and the New Orleans Service Learning Group rebuilding houses and churches after hurricane Katrina. He earned a second degree black belt, ran cross country, played tennis and hockey. He also was an announcer for the NM News and basketball games. His great passion was for comedy, film and the art of storytelling. He also loved everything outdoors including camping and hiking.
Joseph touched the hearts of many using his humor and good spirit to brighten the days of everyone around him. He was an incredibly genuine person whose wit and liveliness will surely be missed.
Joseph is survived by his parents Michael and Taryn of Pepperell; his brother Matthew also of Pepperell; his brother Michael and sister in law Kymberly of Farmington, Maine. He also leaves several aunts, uncles & cousins as well as friends.
