Joseph Michael Woods, 52, of Pepperell, MA passed away on Monday, February 20, 2023. He was born on October 16, 1970 in Lowell, Massachusetts to the late Joyce (Kappel) Woods and Herbert Woods. He grew up in West Groton, MA and graduated from Nashoba Valley Technical High School. Joe later went on to earn his Bachelor’s and Master’s Degree in Business Administration from Fitchburg State University.
Joe was known and loved for his unique sense of humor, his ability to make any situation comical and his quick wit. Joe was always willing to lend a hand and loved helping others. This was demonstrated as he served as a volunteer Firefighter for the Town of Groton for more than 15 years and worked as an EMT for Groton for many years, teaching first aid/CPR in the community. His work ethic was shown through his many years of public service.
Joe also had a very strong love for his family and friends. His love was sometimes shown in typical Joe fashion – making mugs, plates and t-shirts with personalized memes on them as gifts. It was also shown in spontaneous gestures like flowers, cards, love letters and making cross-country drives. Joe was the biggest supporter of his family, helping through difficult times, new chapters and adventures and challenging decisions.
Joe leaves behind his soulmate, his wife Holly (Arsenault) Woods with whom he spent many happy years, their daughter Amanda Woods and her fiancé, Bradley Smith of Sackets Harbor, NY, his brother Herbert C. Woods and his wife Lori of North Chelmsford, MA, and several nieces and nephews. Joe is predeceased by his brother Frank Woods.
