Karen E. (Lynch) Delaney

Karen (Lynch) Delaney, 71, of Pepperell, died peacefully on June 26, 2025. Karen has reunited with her beloved husband John (Jack) Delaney (2016). She was the loving mother of Kathleen Clement and her husband Jason of Pepperell, son John Delaney and his wife Amanda of Leominster and daughter Meaghan Delaney and her husband Daniel Stanhope of Pepperell. She will be greatly missed by her four grandchildren: Max Clement of Pepperell, Alexis, Jack and Leah Delaney of Leominster, as well as her dear friend Nina White of Ayer, MA.

Karen grew up in Pepperell with her parents Thomas and Shirley (Cooper) Lynch as the second of seven children. She remained in Pepperell for over 65 years until she moved to Ayer Valley Rehab and Nursing. She worked at NEBS, Pepperell Braiding Factory and James River Paper Company. Her favorite “job” was mom to her three kids and their friends.

Karen loved crafting, specifically crotchet, gardening and family game nights. A favorite memory is Sunday dinner hosted by Karen and Jack every week for years which included family and friends squeezing into every corner of the house for a night of home cooking. In later years her children would bring dinner to the nursing home and invite mom’s cast of friends to join in.

Karen was well loved by the staff at Ayer Valley Rehab and Nursing and they took amazing care of her, especially at the end of her life. Any donations can be made to the nursing home’s activity department to help the residents enjoy the crafts and spa nights as much as she did. Family and friends will gather for visiting hours in the McGaffigan Funeral Home, 37 Main St., (Rte. 113) Pepperell, MA on Tuesday, July 8th from 4 – 7 pm, with a memorial service to follow.
