Karen (Murphy) Lohrman

Karen (Murphy) Lohrman, of Pepperell, formerly of Westford & Hernando, FL, died on December 18, 2022 at Life Care Center of Merrimack Valley after suffering from Alzheimer’s disease.  She was 76.

Born in Cambridge, MA on June 8, 1946, she was the daughter of the late William & Frances (Lyons) Murphy.  She met the love of her life, Kenny, and they married on April 17, 1971. They began raising their 3 children in Stoneham, MA and moved to Westford, MA in June 1983.  After retiring from the town hall in Bedford, MA in 2006, she & Kenny moved to Florida.  There, they became friends with some wonderful people & went on lots of cruises together.  Her favorite places to visit were Alaska, Norway & the Caribbean.  They also loved to take trips to Disney World, get an ice cream at Beaches & Cream and walk for miles.  She loved to read romance novels.  Karen was also an amazing quilter, making many wall hangings, tree skirts & bed coverings over the years.

Karen is survived by her husband of 51 years, Kenneth Lohrman; three children, Roberta Frechette & her husband Terrence of Pepperell, Lisa Lohrman of Groton, and Kevin Lohrman of Lakeland, FL; four grandchildren, Hannah & Cameron Frechette and Kyle & Jacob Lohrman; three great grandchildren, Braylynn, Mikah & Abel Lohrman; a sister Susan Manning and brother William Murphy & his wife Patricia; and a brother-in-law William Lohrman & his wife Susan. She was predeceased by her brother-in-law Robert Manning and his daughter Courtney.  She is also survived by many nieces, nephews & friends.

Visiting hours will be held in the McGaffigan Funeral Home, 37 Main St., (Rte. 113) Pepperell, MA on Tuesday, December 27th from 4 – 7 p.m. Graveside services will be conducted at Association Cemetery, Park St., Pepperell, MA on Wednesday, December 28th at 10 a.m. In lieu of flowers, please consider making a donation in Karen’s name to the Alzheimer’s Association, 309 Waverley Oaks Rd., Waltham, MA 02452 ( www.alz.org )
