In Loving Memory of Kenneth R. Beers
With broken hearts, we share the passing of our beloved husband, father, and grandfather, Kenneth R. Beers, who passed away peacefully at home on October 15th, 2025, at the age of 87, surrounded by his wife, daughter and son-in-law, and best friend, Alex Paul.
Ken was the heart of our family — a strong, humble, and compassionate man who loved his family more than anything in the world. He was a devoted husband to Vicki, the love of his life, and together they built a beautiful home in Milford, where they shared 43 wonderful years of marriage, laughter, and love.
Ken proudly served six years in the United States Coast Guard aboard the USCGC Acushnet, earning a Medal of Good Conduct for his dedication and honorable service. After his time in the Coast Guard, he began his career as a mechanic, where his strong work ethic and attention to detail shined.
He later found his true calling as a police officer, serving his community with pride, humility, and compassion. Ken came on board with the Police Athletic League (PAL) Youth Shooting Program in the early 1970s and stayed with it until his retirement. He was great with the kids — patient, kind, and genuine — and they absolutely loved him. Throughout his career, Ken achieved the rank of Master Patrolman, taking on duties beyond those of a regular patrol officer. In addition to his work with PAL, which was a true form of community policing, he served as the Senior Firearms Instructor and Armorer for the department — and he excelled at both. But what truly stood out about Ken was his calm, mature, and de-escalating manner in dealing with people. He earned the respect and admiration of his colleagues and the community for his professionalism and steady hand.
Ken retired from the Pepperell Police Department in 1995, but his commitment to service didn’t stop there. A few years later, he came out of retirement to work as a security guard for PC Connection, and later for the Hollis Police Department, where he continued serving with the same dedication and integrity he always had. Ken finally fully retired in 2015, closing a long and honorable career to dedicate all his time to his family.
Ken’s greatest joy in life was his family. He adored his daughter Kerrie, who he often called the light of his life. Anyone who knew them could see the bond they shared — his face would light up the moment she walked into the room. Ken also shared a special connection with Kerrie’s husband, Jayson, often saying he was the son he never had and feeling immense pride in the man he became.
His two granddaughters were his absolute pride and joy. He loved Kassidy, his little hiking buddy, who was always ready to go on an adventure with him, and Jordynne, his little meatball, filled his days with laughter and love. Both girls followed in the footsteps of their Grampa getting into public safety careers. Kassidy and Jordynne were inseparable from their Grampa, and he never missed a single moment of their lives.
Ken is survived by his loving wife Vicki, his daughter Kerrie and her husband Jayson, and his two granddaughters Kassidy and Jordynne, along with three sister in laws, Kelly Leeann and Jan Henson, and many nieces and nephews whom he adored. There was nothing Ken loved more than his family, and everyone who knew him would tell you the same — because that’s all Ken ever talked about.
Ken was predeceased by his parents Kenneth D. Beers and Rose F. Beers, and by his sister Helen O’Connor.
Those who knew Ken will remember him as a strong yet gentle soul — humble, steadfast, and endlessly giving. He leaves behind a legacy of love, service, and family that will live on forever in our hearts.
Though our hearts ache, we take comfort in knowing his strength and love will always surround us.
As Ken always believed — “Everything happens for a reason.”
