Lillian Walsh

Lillian Walsh, born on July 30, 1933, in Medford, passed away peacefully on June 15, 2025, at the age of 91.

Lillian began her teaching career at the Parmenter School in Arlington and later taught for many years at St. Raphael’s School in Medford, where she touched the lives of countless students with her gentle guidance and love for learning. After starting a family, she took time away from the classroom to care for her children.

Her faith and community were central to her life. Lillian was a devoted member of St. Raphael’s Parish, where she belonged to the Sodality and sang in the choir. She was also active in the Medford Catholic Women’s Club, where she formed lasting friendships and contributed to many parish and charitable events.

Lillian loved spending her summers in Scituate, where she was a member of the Sandhillettes—a beloved tradition that brought laughter, companionship, and joy. She found happiness in simple pleasures: baking for family gatherings, crafting with care, and sharing her quiet creativity with those around her. She will be remembered for her kind heart and giving spirit.

She was predeceased by her beloved husband, Robert (Bob) Walsh, and her son, William (Billy) Walsh.

Lillian is survived by her son Robert (Bobby) Walsh; her daughter Lauren Venuti and son-in-law Joe Venuti; and her loving grandchildren, Joseph Venuti and Noah Venuti.

Her legacy is one of love, devotion, and quiet strength. She will be deeply missed and fondly remembered by her family, friends, former students, and all who were lucky enough to know her.

The family would like to extend their heartfelt thanks to ALL the staff at Brightview Concord River for their compassionate care and support and to Beacon Hospice, particularly Alicia, for the comfort and dignity they provided throughout her time at Brightview.

Visiting hours will be held at the Keefe Funeral Home, 5 Chestnut St., Arlington, on Tuesday, June 24th from 4 – 7 pm. Lillian’s Funeral Mass will be celebrated in St. Raphael Church, 512 High St., Medford, on Wednesday, June 25th at 11 am. Interment Oak Grove Cemetery, Medford.
