Lloyd Laverne Grant

Lloyd was granted his angel wings after a long and courageous fight on December 2nd, 2022. His final days were spent surrounded by his daughter Shannon and wife Joanne. Lloyd’s genuineness and humor touched the hearts of many, especially his grandson Joshua aka his “little man”.

Lloyd was born in Coquille, Oregon on November, 11th 1946 to Ronald Grant and Eileene Barkdoll. After high school, Lloyd enlisted in the US Navy where he served three tours in Vietnam. Lloyd possessed strength, perseverance, and an ability to overcome any challenges, which led to receiving five Bronze Stars and a Silver Star. After returning home, Lloyd was employed by the Millipore Corporation and retired after 34+ years.

Lloyd is survived by his loving sister Ladonna Butcher of Hoquiam, Washington; wife Joanne Grant of Dunstable, Massachusetts; daughter Shannon Grant and her husband Jorcimar Teixeira; his loving grandson Joshua Teixeira, niece Lisa Butcher, his nephew Billie Grant and all his nieces and nephews who called him “Uncle Boogie”. Supposedly he could dance!

Visiting hours will be held in the McGaffigan Funeral Home, 37 Main St., (Rte. 113) Pepperell, MA on Thursday, December 8th from 5 to 8 pm. Lloyd’s Funeral Mass will be celebrated at Our Lady of Grace worshiping at St. Joseph Church, 28 Tarbell St., Pepperell, MA on Friday, December 9th at 10 a.m. Interment – Central Cemetery, Dunstable. A collation will be held following the service. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to The Veterans of Foreign Wars, Processing Center, P.O. Box 8958, Topeka, KS 66608-8958 ( vfw.org ).
