Margaret "Meg" Nickerson Tarr

Margaret (Meg) Nickerson Tarr passed away March 30, 2015 surrounded by her family and loved ones. Meg was the youngest of the three Tarr girls, sister to Elizabeth and Kathryn, and daughter of Evan and Donna of Manchester-by-the-Sea, MA.

Meg is also survived by her grandmother, Elizabeth F. Tarr of Woburn; uncles and aunts Jack and Patricia McGaffigan of Groton; Edward and Darlene Tarr of Woburn; Eric and Sandra Tarr of Arlington; Sharon Kling of Carlisle and seven cousins, Edward F. Jr, Eileen, Christopher, Joslyn, Erin, Moira, and Michael.

Meg was a 2008 graduate of Manchester Essex Regional High School. She received her Bachelor of Science from Salem State University in 2012. This past fall, Meg completed her Master of Science in Counseling & Psychology Services at Salem State University. She was excited to begin the process of becoming a licensed Mental Health Provider.

Meg was known for her big heart and great sense of humor. She had a larger-than-life personality that enveloped anyone who came into her path. Her crazy antics and love of celebrating made her legendary. She was a constant source of entertainment, enjoyed making people laugh, and loved being the center of attention.

Meg was an independent, strong-willed woman whose greatest asset was her ability to bring out the best in everyone. Her newest love of baking stemmed from her relationship with long-time boyfriend Matthew Thomas and his family.

Growing up in Manchester, Meg was a beach lover. Carrying a straw hat, good book, and cocktail was an invitation she would not ignore. Known as the ringleader of fun, there was usually a large group to be found with her. Her vivacious love of life was cut short too soon. Her ability to light up a room with her personality will forever be missed, and we are forever grateful for the time we had with her.

In lieu of flowers, we ask that donations be made in Meg Tarr's memory to the Wellspring House, 302 Essex Ave, Gloucester, MA 01930 (978) 281-3221.

Services to celebrate Meg's life will be held Monday, April 6th from 2-4pm and 6-8pm at Campbell Funeral Home in Beverly. A mass will be held in Meg's honor Tuesday, April 7th at 11am at Sacred Heart Church in Manchester-by-the-Sea.
