Marjorie Marcinkewicz, lifelong resident of Shirley passed away on September 24, 2015 at the age of 87. She was born in Ayer August 19, 1928.
Margie and her husband Brownie owned and operated the Shirley Club for many years. After her husband passed away in 1991 Margie was encouraged to volunteer at the Shirley Town Hall which she did for over 20 years. Margie was also very active in the Democratic Committee and was named the "democrat of the year"

Margie also spent many hours volunteering for the Friendship Fund,, an organization that was dear to her heart. You would also see Margie at almost every event that was held in Shirley from plays at the Lura White School, the Hoe Down as well as all of the Memorial Day celebrations. Because of Margie's energy and commitment to her town and other activities she was recognized as the "Spark Plug of the Year".

Margie was predeceased by her husband Brownie and her granddaughter Kristina, her parents James and Eula (Whitney) Chesbrough, her sister Ruth Shea and brother-in laws Joe and nephew Richard Shea.

Margie is survived by her three children and their spouses Brownie and Meredith Marcinkewicz of Shirley, Bernice (Marcinkewicz) Mills and her husband Peter of Westbrook, Maine, and James and Nancy Marcinkewicz of Shirley. Margie was also blessed with 4 grandchildren, and 2 greatgrandchildren, Laurie Marcinkewicz, of Fitchburg ,Justin Mills , Whitney Duchaine and her husband Chris, along with their two sons Connor and Lincoln all of Gorham , Maine and Katherine Stockdale of Shirley. Margie is also survived by several generations of nieces and nephews.
