Milton E. "Mickey" Westover, born January 24, 1943, in the quaint town of Shirley, Massachusetts, passed away peacefully on March 20, 2026, surrounded by the love and warmth of his daughters. He was 83 years old.
Mickey was the beloved son of Milton and Irene (Perham) Westover, who have predeceased him, along with his sister, Cynthia Westover, his dear daughter, Nicole Westover-Rose, his infant son, Harvey Westover, and his soulmate, Wanda Pelchat.
He is survived by his devoted daughters, Sherry Harding and Margaret Westover. Mickey's legacy also lives on in his siblings, Patricia Grenier, Doris Fischer, and Frank Westover, as well as his six grandchildren, who brought immense joy to his life. He leaves behind a multitude of friends and extended family who will continue to carry his memory forward.
Mickey attended Ayer High School, where he began to lay the foundation for a life dedicated to service and community. At the tender age of 17, he enlisted in the US Navy, serving honorably from February 16, 1960, to January 28, 1964, achieving the rank of ADJAN. He also served as a Sergeant in the US Army Reserves, embodying the spirit of dedication and patriotism throughout his life.
A skilled machinist by trade, Mickey was most recently employed by Maxant, where he was respected for his precision, strong work ethic, and dedication. Outside of his career, he gave generously of his time through years of service with the Shirley Fire Department and the Town of Shirley Water Department. He was always willing to step forward when help was needed and took great pride in serving his hometown.
Beyond his professional and volunteer endeavors, Mickey was a passionate HAM radio enthusiast, delighting in conversations with people from across the globe.
The family would like to extend their heartfelt gratitude to the home care nurses, EMS crews, neighbors and friends, along with close family friend, Tonia, for their compassionate care and unwavering support, allowing Mickey to spend his final years in the comfort of his family home.
In accordance with Mickey's wishes, a funeral ceremony will be held to honor his memory at the Village Cemetery in Shirley, MA on Saturday June 20th at 11AM.
Though he has left this world, the love he shared and the lives he touched will forever remain in the hearts of those who knew him.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made to a local charity of your choice, in memory of Mickey's generous spirit and dedication to helping others.
