Patricia D. (Whitney) Healey, formerly of West Groton and Chelmsford, passed away peacefully at her son’s side on July 19, 2025 at the Life Care Center of Leominster, following a period of declining health and a battle with dementia.
Born May 3, 1930, a daughter of the late Francis William and Florence P. (Campbell) Whitney, Patsy spent her early life in Medford, graduating from Medford High School class of 1948. She went on to attend secretarial school, and worked at Raytheon for over 30 years from which she retired.
Patsy married William D. Healey of Medford and together they moved to Chelmsford in 1962. They raised three sons: William David Jr., Sean Francis, and Paul Michael Healey. Patsy was active as a Den Mother in cub scouts. The family later moved to West Groton in 1985. Following William’s death, she remained at the family home before moving to Nashoba Park due to declining health.
Patsy was a devout Catholic and attended daily Mass. She was active in St. Joseph’s Church and attended retreats at the former Franciscan Retreat Center in Andover.
Patsy loved animals, especially her dogs Judy, Sally, and Peter, and numerous cats.
She enjoyed spending her holidays with the Callahans.
Patsy was proud to have spent over 90 years of her life vacationing and swimming on Newfound Lake.
Patsy was the beloved wife of the late William D. Healey, Sr., and the loving mother of William D. Healey Jr., and partner Virginia Nelson of Ashby, the late Sean Francis Healey of West Groton, and the late Paul Michael Healey and wife Sharon Healey of Dunstable. She was the sister of the late Estelle, Jini and John.
A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at Our Lady of Grace worshiping at St. Joseph Church, 28 Tarbell St., Pepperell, MA on Monday, July 28th at 10 am. Her burial will follow at 1 pm at Oak Grove Cemetery, Medford.
