Patricia Jean “Patty” Straitiff, 66, a lifelong resident of Pepperell, Massachusetts, passed away peacefully on September 30, 2026 surrounded by her loving family after a short period of declining health.
Born on November 8, 1959, to Katherine (Stone) Alix and Daniel Straitiff Jr. Patty was raised in the community she would call home throughout most of her life. She remained deeply rooted in Pepperell, where she raised her son and was a large presence in the lives of her grandchildren, making a lifetime of memories centered around the people she cherished the most.
Patty had an adventurous spirit and was always up for something new. Whether skydiving, white-water rafting, or riding roller coasters, she embraced life with adventure and enthusiasm making the most of every experience.
She was always making a meal, lending a hand and going the extra mile for the people she cared about. Her generosity and willingness to do a little more for others were simply part of who she was.
Above all, Patty was a devoted grandmother to Matthew and Lilyann, who brought tremendous joy to her life. She treasured her role as their grandmother and all the time she spent with them.
Patty is survived by her beloved son, Matthew Chapman and his wife Alicia, as well as her cherished grandchildren Matthew and Lilyann all of Pepperell. She is also survived by her sisters, Danette Miller and her husband Robert of Townsend, Claudette Alix and her husband John Pasteris of Ashby, Claire Alix and her life partner John Jeffrey of Royalston, as well as many extended family members and friends who loved her dearly.
She is predeceased by her mother Katherine, father Daniel, sister Cheryl Ann Hasting, Matthew D. Chapman and Joyce Chapman, who was like a second mother to Patty and a cherished part of her life.
