Peter Sutherland Olson

Peter Sutherland Olson, 79, of Groton, MA passed away on Saturday, July 22, 2023 at home with his family by his side. Born in Framingham, MA to Frederick F. Olson and Ruth S. Olson on November 5, 1943, Peter was predeceased by his sister Joyce Marolt of El Cerrito, CA, brother Frederick Olson of Epping, NH, and his sister, Joanna Robb.

Pete grew up in Sudbury, MA where he began his lifelong appreciation of gardening, fishing, and nature. He went on to attend Colorado School of Mines and Babson College, where he received a bachelor’s degree in finance, and later an MBA from Suffolk University. After a long career in finance, Pete retired to pursue his interests in real estate.

Pete is survived by his wife of over 54 years, Nancy (Olin) Olson, son Keith and his wife Denise and their children Madison and Jackson of Corning, NY, and daughter Heather Eldredge and her husband Sean and their children Peter, Riley, and Patrick of Groton, MA.

Visiting hours will be held in the McGaffigan Family Funeral Home, 37 Main St., (Rte. 113) Pepperell, MA on Thursday, July 27th from 4 – 7 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to New England English Springer Spaniel Rescue (NEESSR, Inc.), PO Box 407, Ashland, MA 01721 ( www.essrescue.org )
