Rachel Marie Karaska of Groton, Massachusetts passed away on Friday, May 6, 2022 in Grafton, Massachusetts after a long and painful battle with mental health/anorexia. She was 31.
Born and raised in Groton and a graduate of Bishop Guertin High School (2009), and of UMass Lowell (2014). She was an English as Second Language (ESL) teacher and senior fitness instructor.
Rachel was an all-season athlete and a social butterfly making friends that remained her friends her entire life. She was extremely thoughtful, her acts of kindness never went unnoticed by her close group of family and friends. Her passion for the world brought her to teach English in Vietnam and explore far off places like Sri Lanka and Thailand.
Fiercely independent and never wanting to burden anyone, her willingness to help people around her was unmatched. She had the most infectious laugh that will be missed by so many.
Daughter, sister, aunt, niece, granddaughter, cousin and beloved friend to many, Rachel lives on through her parents, Mark and Francine (Groccia) Karaska, her sister Emily Renner and her brother Kyle Karaska. She leaves her niece, Kasia Renner and nephew, Roman Renner along with ten cousins: Christian Ladd, Maeve Dullea, Kate Dullea, Matthew Ladd, Claire Ladd, Reed Karaska, Anthony Proia, Grant Proia, Cole Proia and Isabelle Sillo.
Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend visiting hours at Blessed Trinity Parish - St. Catherine of Alexandria Church, 107 N.
