Malley of Pepperell March 25, 2016 Richard Joseph Malley age 95, died at the Nashoba Valley Medical Center in Ayer. He was born in Rumford, Maine November 21, 1920 son of the late Dennis J. and Gertrude (Pillsbury) Malley and was the husband of the late Rita A. (Archambault) Malley who died in 1997.
A longtime resident of Pepperell where he attended the Schools. He was a veteran of WW II serving in the United States Navy. A longtime member of the Pepperell Fire Department attaining the rank Fire Chief serving for several years in the 1970's.
In his working years he had been employed at the former James Paper Mill in Pepperell as pipe fitter and welder. He was also a parishioner of St. Joseph Church in Pepperell for many years.
Mr. Malley was an avid golfer and played many rounds at the Groton Country Club. He was also member of the American Legion and the Pepperell Veterans of Foreign Wars Post # 3291.
He is survived by his children Michael J. Malley of Pepperell, Richard D. Malley of Brockton and Shirley A. Malley and her companion Diane Muccioili of Lowell he is also survived by his daughter in law Jean Malley of Hudson, NH he was also brother of the late Robert A. Malley, Dennis Malley and Thomas Malley.
