.Robbin Fletcher Lawrence, 72, passed away peacefully on February 27, 2016 at his Groton home, surrounded by his family. He was born January 20, 1944 son of the late William S. and Olive (Fletcher) Lawrence
Robbin was educated in the Groton School system and graduated from Groton High School as a member of the Class of 1962. After High School, he attended Heavy Equipment School in Williamsport, Pennsylvania. He applied his learned knowledge and talents of heavy equipment by working under the employment of Ayer Corporation in Baltimore, Maryland and the T.J. Flatley Company in Nashua, New Hampshire for several years. In 1980, Robbin formed his own excavating company named T.M.B. which he continued to operate until early this year.
Never being one to sit idly by, Robbin volunteered his time to many aspects of his community. He was a member of the Buildings and Grounds Committee of the First Parish Church of Groton where he faithfully performed his duties as Church Checker. He served as Earth Removal Inspector for the Town during the 1970's and 80's. He also volunteered his services during the Groton Habitat for Humanity Build Project in 2004. Robbin was a Charter Member of "The Bored and Broads of Direktas" where he fulfilled the strenuous duties of membership on a regular basis.
In recent years, Robbin could be seen loading his camper onto the back of his Ford pickup and traveling with Laurie to the many campgrounds that abut the shores of the Connecticut River in Vermont. He enjoyed the New England region and made the most of its seasons.
Robbin is survived by his longtime companion Laurie Manley, his brother William R. and his wife Ann of Ayer and brother Dana S. of Groton.
Robbin is also survived by his niece Rhonda and her husband Jim Piper and their son Zakkary of Ashby. Niece Bonnie and her husband Richard Magdelain and their children Haleigh and Braden of Tigard, Oregon, niece Wendy Lawrence of Shirley, niece Jody and Jason Ellis and their children Miles and Macy of Townsend and Casey Lawrence of Townsend.

He also had an extended family who regarded him as father and grandfather, Charlie and Erin Morrill and their children Jacob and Hailey of Groton, Jonathan and Jennifer Manley and their children Leah and Stella of Bedford N.H. They spent many summer weekends camping with Robbin and Laurie.

A graveside Ceremony will be held at the Groton Cemetery on Saturday, March 12, 2016 at 1 PM. A Celebration of Life Service will be held at a later date.
