Robin (Farmer) Reading, 62, of Pepperell, MA, passed away peacefully on Friday, February 13, after a long and difficult battle with Alzheimer’s disease.
Robin was born in Lowell in 1964 to George and Dorothy “Dotty” (Pellerin) Farmer. She attended North Middlesex Regional High School before studying at Wellesley College. After graduating, Robin worked at the Renaissance Bedford Hotel while getting her teaching degree at Rivier University. For over 20 years, Robin taught 6th-grade science at the John F. Ryan Elementary School in Tewksbury, MA. She brought patience, dedication, and a wicked sense of humor to her work with colleagues and students alike. Robin was also a Girl Scout troop leader for many years in Pepperell.
Robin had a creative spirit: she loved painting, sewing, and crafting. All of her creative endeavors were powered by a serious coffee addiction. She was also a great lover of animals. Her greatest enjoyment came from spending time with her family and her beloved cat Indiana.
More than anything, Robin’s love and commitment to her family and friends defined her.
Robin was preceded in death by her father, George Farmer. Left behind to cherish her memory are her husband of over thirty years, Carl “Butch” Reading; her two daughters, Tessa and Emma Reading; son-in-law and future son-in-law, Jacob Plante and Andrew Frappier; mother, Dorothy Farmer; sister and brother-in-law, Tracy and Steve Jones; sister-in-law, Kathleen Reading; nieces, Megan and Briana Jones, Kristin Rutledge, Victoria Reading; and several beloved cousins and friends.
Visiting hours will be held Friday, Feburary 20th from 5-8 PM at McGaffigan Funeral Home, 37 Main St., (Rte. 113) Pepperell, MA. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at Our Lady of Grace Parish worhiping at St. Joseph Church, 28 Tarbell St., Pepperell, MA on Saturday, February 21st, at 10 AM.
