Ronald A. Hamilton

Ronald A. Hamilton, 15 May 1947 – 22 September 2022.  Beloved husband, father, grandfather, and uncle passed rather unexpectedly to be in the presence of our Lord and Savior.

Son of Lester and Madora Hamilton (Spellisy), Ronnie, as he was known by most of his friends, was born and raised in Lowell.  Following high school, he enlisted in the United States Army in 1965, serving two years in the 2nd Battalion, 5th Artillery Division.

He was a welder, by profession and considered quite accomplished within the trade.  He spent the bulk of his professional life working for General Foods Corp, Woburn, MA and XRE Corp, Littleton, MA.  He culminated his working-life serving the town of Pepperell within their water department.

His priority in life was clearly his devotion to his family in general and his wife of 46 years, in particular.  He was a man of integrity and strong work ethic who was widely known for his willingness to lend a hand to friends and neighbors whenever needed.

Following their retirement, he and Jerri spent multiple years wintering beachside in Carrabelle, FL and driving around our country in their RV, fulfilling their shared lifelong dream.

He was predeceased by his adoring wife Geraldine (Stewart) and his son Stewart (Hallbourg).  He is survived by his daughter Dori (Hamilton) Higgins and her husband Jason of Merrimack, NH; his son Keith (Hallbourg) and his wife Cheryl of Pepperell; His Nephew Douglas Hamilton and his wife Sherry of Lowell; and his four grandchildren, Brady Higgins, Elyse Hallbourg, Olivia Hallbourg, and Nathaniel Hallbourg, and great nephew Jake Hamilton.

Graveside services will be held at Association Cemetery, Park Street, Pepperell, Massachusetts on Saturday, October 1st at 10 a.m. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend. In lieu of flowers, donations in Ron’s memory may be made to the Humane Society for Greater Nashua, 24 Ferry Road, Nashua, NH 03064 ( www.hsfn.org ).
