Ruth Lotte Chavez

Ruth Lotte Blankenburg Chavez,84, passed away peacefully on Saturday February 6, 2016, surrounded by her loved ones.

Ruth was born in Berlin, Germany on April 26, 1931, to Erich and Lotte ( Hauffe) Blankenburg. She resided in Germany, where she met the love of her life, Luis Mario Chavez. The moved to the United States permanently in 1966. First stationed in Kansas and then stationed at Fort Devens, making Pepperell, MA their home.

Ruth was known throughout the community for her trademark red hair and her beautiful, distinct German accent. Ruth had many interests. She was a volunteer for the Red Cross and a member of the V.F.W. Ladies Auxiliary. She was active in the town elections, working at the polls. Ruth owned and operated the Mon Cheri Poodle Salon, for many years on Main St. She was also the sales manager at Scotch Pine Farm for a number of years.

Ruth was preceded in death, by her loving husband of nearly 60 years, Luis, who passed in 1999.

Ruth is survived by her brother, Lothar Blankenburg and his wife, Carmen, of Berlin, Germany. Her beautiful daughters, Estella Miller of Townsend, MA and Beatice Pirtle of Terrell, TX.

Ruth also leaves three incredible grandchildren. Rachel Erica Miller of Pepperell, MA, Carrie Charlotte Parker and her husband SGT. Nick Parker of Townsend, MA, and Angela Chavez Sadler, and her husband Jeffrey, of Caddo Mills, TX.

Ruth was also blessed with three extraordinary great-grandchildren. Jonathen Dooley of Terrell, TX, Darian Parker of Townsend, MA and Mackenzie Lovering of Moultonborough, NH.

She also leaves many nieces and nephews.

Ruth was predeceased by her son-in-law of 45 years, Christopher Miller, and her long time companion Pete Angelini.
