Virginia (Goldthwaite) Stakun, 87, passed away on Thursday, April 24, 2014, at her home following a short illness. She was born on July 22,1926, and was raised in Dunstable, MA. She was the daughter of the late Marjorie (Loop) and Rea Goldthwaite. She was the widow of Vitie J. Stakun to whom she was happily married for 40 years. She was predeceased by her sisters, Rosalie Lynch, Louise Sandstrom, and a brother, Lawrence (Bub) Goldthwaite.
Virginia graduated from nursing school at Leominster Hospital, spending many years as an RN and private duty nurse. Ginny loved to knit, and was active in the Women's Club. She loved to host the ladies monthly on Tuesdays. She enjoyed going on Senior bus trips. She also liked to travel and visited Alaska as well as Scotland. She is remembered by many for her annual Memorial Day and Fourth of July parade parties. Ginny will be missed by her extended family and her many close friends.
She is survived by three sisters, Mildred Cunningham of Amherst, NH, Nancy Leech of West Virginia, Marie Walsh of Lowell, MA, and a brother, Donald Goldthwaite of Maine. She is survived by her daughter, Susan Aggott and her husband, George, and her son, Stephen Stakun and his wife, Linda, all of Pepperell, MA. Four grandchildren, Melissa Mason of Pelham, NH, Joshua Stakun and his wife, Tara of Pepperell, Zachary Aggott of Leominster, MA, and Hannah Aggott of Pepperell.
She also had two great grandsons, Benjamin and Lucas Stakun.
