William S. Boettcher

William S. Boettcher, 97, passed away peacefully on June 25, 2015 at Nashua Crossings Assisted Living in Nashua, NH after a short illness.

Bill was born January 27, 1918 in South Hadley, MA. He graduated from Mount Hermon Preparatory School in Gill, MA. and the Stockbridge School of Agriculture in Amherst, MA. He was a veteran of The United States Coast Guard.
He moved to Pepperell 1942 where he was the manager of the Wirthmore Grain Store and then a manager at St. Regis Paper Co. In 1962 he purchased the Lyman F. Robbins Insurance Company.

Bill was a Pepperell Selectmen, Groton Rotarian and a member of the United Methodist Church. He was predeceased by Dorothy, his wife of 30 years, his parents, William and Marion Boettcher, his sister Muriel Smith as well as a grandchild, Bradford Lambert.

He is survived by his wife Josephine of 39 years and his children Mary Boettcher, Craig Boettcher and his wife Robin, from Pepperell, MA and Linda Lambert and her husband Benjamin of Campton, NH, as well as six grandchildren and eight great grandchildren. Also surviving him are three stepchildren, Carol Dubey and husband David, William Lyon and his wife Linda and Linda Elwood and husband Jason, all from Dunstable, MA; nine grandchildren and eleven great grandchildren.

He enjoyed outdoor life, including golf, gardening, boating, hiking and traveling extensively throughout the United States.

A Memorial Service will be held Friday 2 PM July 3, 2015 at the Hamilton-McGaffigan Funeral Home 37 Main St. (Rte. 113) Pepperell, Ma. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to the Pepperell Senior Center, 37 Nashua Rd., Pepperell, MA 01463.
