William “Bill” Arnold Roy, 77, passed away surrounded by the love of his family. Born on March 24, 1949, Bill was raised in Burlington and carried his Vermont roots proudly throughout his life.
Bill honorably served his country in the United States Navy and was also a proud member of the Minute Men of Bedford. He valued service, tradition, and community, and those qualities were evident in the way he lived his life and cared for those around him.
He was predeceased by his beloved parents, Jeanette (LaCroix) Roy and Bernard Roy, as well as his sister, Karen Boisvert. Bill is survived by his loving wife of 53 years, Mary Ellen (Canfield) Roy, who grew up in Proctor. Together they built a life filled with love, laughter, and dedication to family. He is also survived by his children, Nadine Roy and Kerry Roy; his cherished granddaughter, Vivian Mae Fuller; and his siblings, Richard Roy, Nancy Haecker, Tom Roy, and Linda Paquette.
Bill found joy in the simple pleasures of life. He enjoyed golfing, watching NASCAR races, woodworking, and fixing anything around the house that needed attention.
Above all else, Bill adored his granddaughter, Vivian. She brought endless happiness to his life, and his face lit up every time she was around. The love he had for his family will be remembered always.
Bill will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him. His memory will live on in the stories shared, the lessons he taught, and the love he gave.
