William M. Shaw

William M. Shaw of Nashua, NH passed away on May 21, 2023, at the age of 81. He was born in Winthrop on November 12, 1941 son of the late Mahlon and Kathleen Shaw.  He was the beloved husband of Joan R. Shaw and brother to the late Diane Gerlarneau. He was the father of Sandra R. Caswell and husband Glenn of Pepperell, MA, and Karen E. Silva and husband Mark of Groton, MA. He is also survived by his grandchildren, Brittany Caswell and wife Brooklyn Mixon, Ryan Caswell, Rachel Silva and Nicole Silva.

Bill grew up in Maynard and after getting married spent time in the Navy. He moved to Groton in 1972 to raise his two daughters, then eventually moved to Pepperell in 2003 until spending his last 5 years in a nursing home in Nashua, NH. He worked at Digital for most of his career and retired from Hewlett Packard.

Bill loved muscle cars, rock and roll music, Chinese food, bowling, and cribbage.



Graveside services will be held at the New Hampshire State Veterans Cemetery, 110 Daniel Webster Highway, Boscawen, NH on Thursday, June 15th at 3:00 pm. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited.

Bill had Charcot Marie Tooth. CMT was something that affected his life for nearly 30 years. Although this is not something that ended his life, it had an effect on how he lived, especially near the end.For those who wish, in lieu of flowers a contribution may be made for CMT research to www.HNF-cure.org
