Alan George Frazer

Alan George Frazer, devoted husband of Jean Frazer for almost 60 years, died peacefully on November 16, 2022.

Alan, known as Al to most of his friends and workmates, was born in UK where he graduated college with honors in Applied Physics.  In 1963, Alan and Jean emigrated to Nova Scotia, Canada where he was employed as Product Manager for Hermes Electronics working on Anti-Submarine Warfare Systems until 1979.  During his time in Nova Scotia, he coached soccer and represented Nova Scotia in various field hockey tournaments in both Canada and the United States.  In 1980, he and his family moved to Thousand Oaks, California where he was employed by Bunker Ramo in Westlake Village, CA.  He continued playing field hockey and coached the Conejo Valley team for the California Cup X.  In 1983 another big move led to Duxbury, Massachusetts, where Alan worked for Hazeltine Corp in Braintree, MA.  Al enjoyed traveling all over the world on business and used his passion for photography to capture all of the interesting people, wildlife and landscapes that he encountered on his travels.  After moving to Duxbury, he became an avid golfer.

Al was predeceased by his only sibling, his younger sister Anne, who emigrated from the UK to New Zealand where she raised two daughters.  Both of his nieces and one grand niece still reside in New Zealand.  Al was fortunate to spend some happy hours with all three during a very recent visit in September of this year.  They will sadly miss “Uncle Alan”.  Also surviving Alan is his son and granddaughter who resides in New Jersey.  Alan retired to Sterling Riding Stables in Pepperell MA with his wife and daughter, Dawn.  Alan was often heard saying, “I don’t like horses” but he secretly enjoyed watching, feeding and patting the horses when he was not playing golf at Groton Country Club.

Many thanks go to those wonderful caring individuals who cared for Alan and gave his wife a little respite during the past year.  Also, thanks to Life Care of Merrimack Valley for the care they provided Alan during his final month. Special thanks to Hospice for their support of Alan and Jean during the final few days.
