Ann Marie (Pillsbury) Shattuck

Ann Marie (Pillsbury) Shattuck, 90, passed away on February 6, 2021. Ann fought a courageous battle with dementia and declining health issues over the past four years in particular.

Ann was born on March 19, 1930 in Pepperell, MA to the late Harold Roscoe Pillsbury Sr. and Johanna (Colbert) Pillsbury. She was predeceased by a sister, Marjorie Helen Pillsbury, who died three days after birth. Ann has a younger brother, Harold Roscoe Pillsbury Jr. of Pepperell, MA and two younger sisters, Patricia (Pillsbury) Archibald of Mont Vernon, NH and Joan (Pillsbury) Daigle of Townsend, MA.

Ann was happily married for 43 years to the late Milton “Mickey” Robert Shattuck Sr., former owner of Shattuck Oil in Pepperell. Together they created and raised seven children. Ann is survived by five of those seven children: Robert Michael Shattuck and his wife Liz, Carl Richard Shattuck and his wife Linda, Thomas Jeffrey Shattuck and his wife Judy, and Peter James Shattuck and his wife Janice, and daughter Jane Marie Shattuck. She is predeceased by sons Milton Robert Shattuck Jr. and David Paul Shattuck. Ann leaves behind 18 grandchildren and 28 great-grandchildren.

Born in Pepperell, MA, Ann was a graduate of Pepperell High School. She worked at Bemis + Freeman Nursing Home, attended St. Joseph’s School of Nursing, was a Pepperell Woman’s Club member and a volunteer at the Pepperell Senior Center.

Ann and her husband Mickey made a powerful duo. While Mickey built the family oil business into a tremendous success, Ann was the master of running a small army of seven. They were the perfect compliment to one another. She loved her family and cherished her friends. She loved to shop, bake, host holidays and special occasions, as well as the family events. She was happiest when surrounded by her family. She was a strong, intuitive, supportive woman who was always more concerned about the wellbeing of others, more than herself. Her love was boundless and she will be missed tremendously by so many.
