Charles "Chickie" Noble Harris

Charles “Chickie” Noble Harris, age 78, of Fitchburg formerly of Pepperell, passed away peacefully on December 4, 2020 at UMass Memorial HealthAlliance Leominster after a brief illness.

He was born in New Rochelle, NY on November 18, 1942 a son of the late Dr. Sydney and Laura (Crandall) Harris. Chickie relocated to Pepperell as a young child.  He went to the Saint Coletta School for Exceptional Children – Cardinal Cushing Center in Hanover, MA graduating in 1963.  After leaving Saint Coletta’s, Chickie was welcomed into the family of Joyce and Matthew Chapman.

During his lifetime, Chickie held various jobs such as: delivering newspapers, being a farm hand, and breeding rabbits which was fostered by his passion for all animals big and small.

Not only could Chickie warm your heart with a song, but he could bring a smile to your face with a joke.

Chickie is predeceased by Joyce and Matthew Chapman and his siblings: Mark Chapman, Luke Chapman, Marion Chapman, and Donald Harris.

Chickie is survived by his brothers and sisters: Matthew Chapman, Oscar Chapman, Elaine Reeves, John Chapman and his wife Suzanne, Irving Chapman, Steven Chapman and his significant other Barbara Rudnicki, Bernadette “Pixie” Laliberte and her husband Daniel, many nieces and nephews, members of the Donald Harris family, and his dearest friends Sissy and Nandee.

Visiting hours will be held in the McGaffigan Family Funeral Home, 37 Main St. (Rte. 113) Pepperell, MA on Thursday, December 10 from 4 to 7 PM. Relatives and friends respectfully invited. Facial coverings and social distancing will apply.
