Donald L. Durant, 75, of Pepperell, MA passed away suddenly in his home on April 3, 2022. Donald was predeceased by his mother, Gertrude (Parker) Hammond and his brother, David Parker, both of Pepperell. He is survived by his daughter Tamara (Johnson) Kaddy of Leominster, son-in-law Ryan Kaddy, and grandson Evan Kaddy; brothers James and Richard Hammond of New Hampshire; and sister Deborah (Hammond) Alger of Pepperell. He also leaves behind many nieces and nephews.
Donald was a lifelong resident of Pepperell. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, camping, country music, playing poker, motorcycle rides and spending time with family and friends. He loved attending the Veterans Appreciation Breakfast at Post #3291 in Pepperell and was a proud advocate for Veterans.
He graduated from North Middlesex Regional High School in 1965. He went on the serve in the U.S. Navy during the Vietnam Era. He then drove for P.J. Keating Concrete and was a Teamsters member for over 30 years. He served as a director on the executive board of the New England Country Music Organization (NECMO), and volunteered for many years as the timekeeper of the Country Star Search.

Visiting hours will be held in the McGaffigan Funeral Home, 37 Main St. (Rte. 113) Pepperell, MA on Thursday, April 14th from 5 – 7 p.m. His funeral service will be held in the funeral home on Friday, April 15th at 10 a.m. Burial Woodlawn Cemetery, Pepperell. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to a Veterans Service Organization of one’s choosing.
