Gary Robert Krumpholz

Gary Krumpholz, 74, passed away at the Arbors, an assisted living center, in Bedford on February 18th, 2022 after a long and difficult struggle with posterior cortical atrophy.

Gary was born in Holyoke, son of the late Robert Krumpholz and his wife Adele (Leminech) Krumpholz. He was predeceased by his brother Terrance Krumpholz and his loving wife of over 40 years, Ellen (Pattison) Krumpholz. Gary is survived by his devoted friend and life companion Cindy Pingree of Hooksett, NH, his two brothers, Robert and his wife Adele of Worcester, Douglas and his wife Gail of Florida, two sisters, Sandra Ullrich of Westfield, Winifred Dineen of Fort Myers, FL and many nieces and nephews.

Gary earned a doctorate in electrical engineering from Worcester Polytechnic Institute. He then had a long and successful career at MIT’s Lincoln Labs researching and developing a broad array of advanced technologies to meet critical national needs. One of his colleagues fondly reminisced that, “whenever there was a really, difficult problem, they would turn to Gary for a solution."

The family thanks the staff of doctors, nurses, and hospice workers at the Arbors for their care and compassion. They all provided comfort for Gary in his final days and eased his passing.

There will be private services in the spring.
