Marjorie Ann Shubley

Marjorie “Marge, Sis” A. Shubley, age 83, passed away peacefully, Thursday afternoon, May 27, 2021, at St. Joseph’s Hospital in Nashua, NH after a brief illness. She was surrounded by her family.  Born on September 25, 1937, she was the daughter of the late Charlotte (Preston) and John Lynch, Sr. A lifelong resident of Pepperell, MA, she attended Pepperell schools and was a graduate of Pepperell High School Class of 1955. She married the love of her life and best friend, George R. Shubley, in 1956 and would have celebrated 65 years of marriage on June 17, 2021.

Marge was employed by the Town of Pepperell as a Secretary to the Selectman for many years. She enjoyed cards (especially pitch with her husband, grandson and his wife), bowling, country music and was a vocal New England sports fan. Upon retirement, she wintered for over 20 years with George at their home in Bradenton, FL. More than anything, she enjoyed spending time with her family.  She was a loving wife, a quick-witted mother, an active and generous grandmother, and an adoring great-grandmother. She spent countless hours attending high school and college sporting events and accomplishments and was so proud of all of them. She loved a good joke and all things “Irish”, but could never go on Jeopardy due to her “enthusiasm”. Although she will sadly be missed but forever remembered, Marge was “lucky” in life, love and family.

In addition to her husband, George, she is survived by her sister, Barbara Migneault (her husband Gerard, deceased) of Hudson, NH, her brother John Lynch and his wife, JoAnne, of Pepperell, MA. Her two daughters, Nancy Holmes and her husband, Roger, of Albany, NH and Cheryl Carlson and her husband, Peter, of Peterborough, NH.  Her son, William R. Shubley passed away in 2010. Marge adored her three grandchildren and their spouses: Tracey Holmes and her husband, Daniel Mack, of Albany, NH, Cody Carlson and his wife, Lauren, of South Boston, MA, Chelsea Mahl and her husband, Chris, of South Windsor, CT and Nana’s sweet girl, Amelia Rae Mahl and her many nieces and nephews.
